Terms of Service

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Kinetic Studio, Inc. d/b/a Relay ("Relay", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit relaystudio.ai, use Relay Studio, or use any other Relay service that links to this policy (together, the "Services"). Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in our Terms of Service.

The Services are built for businesses. If you use them on behalf of a company, that company is our customer, and this policy describes how we handle the personal information of the people who work with it.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account information. Your name, email address, password (stored by our authentication provider, never by us in readable form) and profile picture. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
  • Workspace and team information. Your workspace name, logo, role, and the email addresses of teammates you invite.
  • Brand information. The website or app store link you give us, your brand name and description, launch details, product information, and the brand page we build from them.
  • Onboarding answers. Your answers to our onboarding questions, such as your goals, content preferences, team size and business size ranges (for example, revenue or ad spend), and any notes you write.
  • Content and uploads. Images, videos, logos and other files you upload, edits you make to drafts, captions, slide notes, approvals and declines, and content you create in the Platform.
  • Billing information. Your plan, billing name, billing email and address. Card details are collected and stored by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number.
  • Support and feedback. Messages you send us, bug reports, and anything attached to them. When you report a bug from the Platform, the report includes a screenshot of the screen you were on and technical details about your browser and session.

Information from connected accounts

  • TikTok. When you connect a TikTok account, TikTok gives us an access token and the permissions you approve. We receive your account's identifier, username, display name and profile picture, and we keep our own copy of the profile picture. We read your videos' public details and statistics (such as views, likes and comments) to show you results, and we use the connection to upload or publish content when you approve it. You can disconnect at any time from Accounts in the Platform or from your TikTok settings.
  • Accounts you track. If you add a social media handle to track, we collect the public posts and statistics of that account.
  • Connected AI agents. If you connect an AI assistant to Relay, we record the connection and the actions it takes on your behalf.

Information we collect automatically

  • Usage information. Pages you visit, features you use, buttons you press, and how long actions take. We use PostHog for product analytics.
  • Device and log information. IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, referring website, and the dates and times of your visits.
  • Where you came from. The campaign tags in the link you first arrived from (such as utm_source) and the website that referred you, kept with your workspace.
  • Cookies and local storage. We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (such as light or dark appearance), measure how the Services are used, and secure the Services.
  • Website visitor identification. Our public homepage uses a tag from Vector (vector.co) that may identify the company, and in some cases the professional contact information, associated with a visitor, using cookies, IP address and data that Vector holds. The tag does not load when your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.
  • Advertising measurement. We use the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API to measure how our ads on Facebook and Instagram perform and to show our ads to people likely to find Relay useful. When you visit our website, scan a website, create an account, start a trial or make your first payment, we send Meta that event together with information that helps match it to a Meta account: cookies set by the pixel, your IP address and browser details, and, once you have an account, your email address, name, an internal account identifier and the country and postal code of your billing address. Email, name, identifier and location are hashed before they are sent. We do not send the content you create in Relay. Nothing is sent to Meta when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.

Information from other sources

  • Public websites and listings. When you give us your website or an app store link, we read the public pages and listing (text, images, logos and links) to build your brand page.
  • Service providers. We may receive information from our payment processor (such as whether a payment succeeded) and from our authentication provider (such as whether your email is verified).

2. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • provide, operate and maintain the Services, including building your brand page, generating and editing content, scheduling and publishing posts, and showing results;
  • create and manage your account and workspace, and let you invite and work with teammates;
  • process payments, manage subscriptions and trials, and prevent fraud;
  • communicate with you, including service messages, invitations, billing notices, renewal reminders and support replies;
  • understand how the Services are used and improve them, including developing new features and improving the models, prompts and methods we use to make content;
  • measure and improve our marketing, and understand which companies visit our website;
  • secure the Services, enforce our Terms, and protect Relay, our customers and others; and
  • comply with legal obligations.

We may create information that does not identify you or any individual (de-identified or aggregated data) and use it for any lawful purpose, as described in our Terms.

3. How we use AI

To make content, Relay sends brand information, uploads, drafts and related instructions to third-party AI model providers, including providers accessed through OpenRouter, Google and OpenAI. These providers process the information to return a result to us, under their own terms and data policies. We do not use AI to make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share personal information only as described here:

  • Service providers. Companies that work for us, including our authentication provider (Clerk), payment processor (Stripe), database and hosting providers (Convex, Vercel), file storage (Cloudflare), product analytics (PostHog), email delivery (Resend), browser rendering services, and the AI model providers described above. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
  • Platforms you connect. When you approve a post for your TikTok account, we send the content and its settings to TikTok. TikTok's use of that information is governed by TikTok's own policies.
  • Creators. If your plan sends content through Relay's creator network, we share the content, your brand name and the brief with the Creators who post it.
  • Your teammates. People in your workspace can see your name, email address, role and the work you do in the workspace.
  • Marketing and visitor identification. Our website visitor identification provider, Vector, receives information about visits to our homepage, and Meta receives the advertising measurement events described above.
  • Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • Legal reasons. When we believe disclosure is needed to comply with law or legal process, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, property or safety of Relay, our customers or others.
  • With your direction. When you ask us to, or give us permission to, share information.

5. How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as your account is open and as long as we need it to provide the Services. In particular:

  • if you start a brand scan but do not create an account, the workspace we prepared for you is deleted after about 24 hours;
  • content you delete from the Platform is permanently deleted about 30 days later;
  • when your account ends, we may delete your account and Customer Data 30 days after termination, as set out in our Terms; and
  • we keep some information longer where we need it for legal, tax, accounting, security or fraud-prevention reasons, or to resolve disputes.

De-identified and aggregated data may be kept indefinitely. Copies may remain in routine backups for a limited time.

6. Your choices and rights

  • Account information. You can update your name, picture and workspace details in Settings.
  • Connected accounts. You can disconnect TikTok from Accounts in the Platform, or revoke Relay's access from your TikTok settings.
  • Marketing emails. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in the email. We will still send service messages.
  • Cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the Services may not work without them. You can also turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information or targeted advertising, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email us at the address below. We will verify your request before acting on it, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may use an authorized agent to make a request where the law allows. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision.

California residents. In the past 12 months we have collected the categories of personal information described in Section 1: identifiers, commercial information, internet and network activity, professional information, and the content you provide. We use and share them for the business purposes described in Sections 2 to 4.

EEA and UK residents. We process personal information to perform our contract with you, for our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the Services and marketing them to businesses, to comply with legal obligations, and with your consent where required. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

7. International transfers

Relay is based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and restricted access. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information you send us.

9. Children

The Services are for businesses and people who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Third-party services

The Services link to and work with third-party services, such as TikTok and Google. Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and change the date at the top. If a change is material, we will tell you by email or in the Platform before it takes effect.
